SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 89; An Ordinance Amending Chapter 7,
Article 1, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended),
Relating to the Appointment of the Civil Defense Administrator.
Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 89. The amendment is shown below
in Ramseyer format with respect to the content of Bill No. 89; material to be added is
underscored, and material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken.
SECTION 2 of Bill No. 89, which amends chapter 7, article 1, of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) by adding a new section, is amended to amend subsection (b)
to read as follows:
"(b) The civil defense administrator shall be appointed by the mayor and may be
removed by the mayor[. The a., mist.-,+ f shall be hifea aeeefdifig t the
ef] in accordance with chapter 76 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes."
Due to the limited scope of this amendment, a copy of the new draft of this bill that would result
if this proposed amendment were to be adopted is not attached.
