RE: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 52, Draft 3:AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
CHAPTER 25,ARTICLES 1, 4,AND 5, OF THE HAWAI`I COUNTY CODE
1983 (2016 EDITION,AS AMENDED), RELATING TO HENNERIES.
Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 52, Draft 3. The proposed amendment
is shown below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 52; material to be
deleted is bracketed and stricken.
SECTION 2 of Bill No. 52, Draft 3, which amends chapter 25, article 4, division 1, of the
Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) by adding a section, is amended by
amending paragraph (5)to read as follows:
"(5) Household henneries shall be maintained in accordance with applicable best
management practices established or adopted by the State department of
health,the State department of agriculture and biosecurity, and the United
States Department of Agriculture to minimize nuisances such as [neise,] odor,
waste, and vectors in residential areas."
Due to the limited scope of this amendment, a copy of the new draft of this measure that would
result if this amendment were adopted is not attached.
