Bill 265
Finance Committee
Tearing: Tuesday, July, 25, 2000, 10:30 a.m.
e are "'ere today to strongly support Bill 265 which is before this Committee_
Thi r. • :le of two ` of Interest" Bills that you will look at today.
Age.;: ..e feel that although this Bill is, in our opinion, a very small step in
starting to curb ,. ,.i!ption in this County, it is a much needed step for us to take. We feel
that, even thou_ l .: L. Bill limits "immediate family" to only children and spouses, it will
begin to steer , :... ':ard a more honest way of conducting business on this island. We all
know that bills t ,ch as this one before you, are greatly needed not only at the County
level, but at thc . :: :.re. and Federal level as well. Rut we have to start somewhere when it
comes to real rc‘brm. And Bill 265, along with Bill 264, are what this County and its
citizens, need.
We ask that you support and pass Bill 265 which will take us toward a more open, honest
• and responsible 1overnment for its citizens. We also commend and thank Ms. Julie
Jacobson for init this measure in the interest of this island's future!
Thank 'ou or - „‘11, time.
