Re: Comm. No. 594/Bill No. 104
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 104, reports as follows:
Bill No. 104, transmitted by Prosecuting Attorney Kelden B. A. Waltjen via Communication No. 594,
dated October 17, 2025, amends Ordinance No. 25-45, as amended, the Operating Budget of the
County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
This bill increases revenues in the Federal Grants — Traffic Safety Training Project Grant account
($18,440); and appropriates the same to the Traffic Safety Training Project account. Funds will be
used by the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to assist with travel expenses for conferences, trainings,
and meetings related to impaired driving and effective prosecution of impaired driving offenses.
Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder spoke in support of this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 104, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
