No. 586/Res, No. 376-25 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 376-25, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 376-25, transmitted by Sustainability, Climate, Equity and Resilience Administrator <br />Laura E. C. Acasio via Communication No. 586, dated October 17, 2025, authorizes the Mayor to <br />enter into an agreement with the United States Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and <br />Atmospheric Administration, to receive a grant for the Puapua`a Iki Habitat Restoration Project for <br />invasive species management and shoreline stabilization. <br />This resolution allows for the receipt of $1,901,521 of federally -derived funds to restore eleven and a <br />half acres of deforested land in Puapua`a Iki in North Kona. <br />Sustainability, Climate, Equity and Resilience Administrator Laura E. C. Acasio was present and <br />provided an overview on this project. Committee Members Jean Kagiwada and Rebecca Villegas <br />commented in support of this project.
