SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 52, Draft 3; AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLES 1, 4, AND 5, OF THE
HAWAI`I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION, AS AMENDED),
RELATING TO HENNERIES.
Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 52, Draft 3. The proposed amendment
is shown below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 52, Draft 3; material
to be deleted is bracketed and stricken, and material to be inserted is underscored.
SECTION 2 of Bill No. 52, Draft 3, which amends chapter 25, article 4, division 1 of the
Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), is amended by amending paragraph (2)
to read as follows:
"(2) The number of hens may not exceed:
(A) [Twa] Four hens for the first [three] five thousand square feet of the
building site area; and
(B) One more hen for each one thousand square feet of area greater than three
thousand square feet;"
Due to the limited scope of this proposed amendment, a copy of the new draft of this bill that
would result if the amendment was adopted is not attached.
