Aloha kakou,
My name is Hi`iaka Kaimiloa Aipia White Eagle. I strongly oppose any effort to lease the lands of Pohakuloa
back to the U.S. military. For decades, they have used this sacred `aina as a bombing range, causing irreversible
damage to our aina, wai, and sacred spaces. Pohakuloa is not just a piece of `aina. It is a living, breathing place
that holds the mo°olelo, mana, and `uhane of our kapuna. Continued military use only brings more destruction,
contamination, and desecration. We are already dealing with the lasting impacts of past leases, and we cannot
allow this cycle of violence against our `aina to continue. It's time to `auamo our kuleana to protect and restore
Pohakuloa for our mo`opuna and not hand it back to those who have proven they can not care for it.
