Aloha a Councilmembers for Hawai'i Island:
I am a resident of this state with domicile PO Box 1023 44-2348 Middle Rd. Honoka'a 96727 (District 1)
I'm writing to express my support for Resoltion 234-25, which is an essential step towards rectifying
abuses and desecration against Hawaiian lands, culture and agency.
Please give your whole -hearted support to this effort to restore appropriate, measured, fair and
respectful land use in the negotiations with the US Military..
Too often we have hiked on the trails around Saddle Rd, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa to the sounds of
detonating bombs. Too often we have seen the warnings about danger and live ordnance. Too often we
have seen images of the'Aina being treated as if it were a disposable, inanimate being given to the
convenience of the Army
Too often we have learned of inadequate environmental and cultural assessments, rushed and secret
deals, or inequitable leases that bring no lasting benefit to Hawai'i.
