Please support resolution 234-25.
US Military training at Pohakuloa has caused serious irreversible harm and degradation.
They have completely ignored the cultural,
environmental and spiritual significance of this
land.
Long term live fire and bombing have caused contamination and long term damage to
both land and water sources.
Public health is threatened from the presence and impact of toxic substances including
depleted uranium. Besides the soil, these contaminants could be airborne and spread
island wide.
Pohakuloa is in a designated conservation district. Military exercises are incompatible with
the preservation of of native species, eco systems and cultural resource goals.
The State has a constitutional obligation and duty to preserve and maintain trust lands.
