We can not accept our aina being destroyed by the military presence, not here, not Oahu, not anywhere in Hawaii. 1 can tell you what you already should know and understand: 1. It is extremely windy at Pohakuloa. 2. There is DEFINITELY depleted uranium. If you doubt this, why does Pohakuloa military apply for the use of depleted uranium permit every year. Look at the history of the weapon usage over the last 40 plus years. 3. The smallest amount of uranium can cause cancer. Every time the wind picks up, the soil that is contaminated with uranium is swirling in the air, thus endangering both residents and military personnel. Please do your research on breathing depleted uranium. I have. You want to know why? I was tested for heavy metals and those tests indicated extreme levels of uranium. I moved to the Big Island in 1978 and lived on the Big Island for over 40 years. No one ever said it was not safe to traverse the Saddle Road but now we know. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?
