Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of David R. Powell of Council District 2
to the Hawaii County Tax Board of Review to replace Bill F. Eger, who resigned
on May 8, 2000 to seek elected office.
Mr. Powell is a 42-year-resident of Hawaii and has been retired since 1998. Prior
to that, he was employed by Case & Lynch, Attorney at Law (1987-1998). His
community activities include the Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation and the
Family Foundation of North America. He states that he has no political party
affiliation.
If approved, Mr. Powell will serve the balance of the unexpired term, which will
end on December 31, 2000. Should you have any questions regarding this
