COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />417 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FRIENDS OF <br />THE PALACE THEATER FOR THE 6TH ANNUAL "TIS THE SEASON — A WALK <br />THROUGH CHRISTMAS TOWN" EVENT. <br />WHEREAS, the Friends of the Palace Theater is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br />whose mission is to revitalize, restore, and sustain the historic Palace Theater as a venue that will <br />educate, entertain, and inspire our diverse community, while fostering events that strengthen <br />community connection, promote the arts, and offer meaningful cultural experiences for residents <br />of all ages; and <br />WHEREAS, the Friends of the Palace Theater is requesting funds for expenses relating <br />to the 6th Annual "Tis the Season — A Walk Through Christmas Town" event being held on <br />December 20, 2025, including live musical entertainment, which will serve a public purpose by <br />benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests of culture and the arts; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 are hereby transferred to the <br />Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Friends of the Palace Theater for the <br />expenses and purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and <br />incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,500 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />1010-11-10191 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $1,500 <br />CREDITED TO <br />1010-21-25139 Department of Liquor Control $1,500 <br />Public Programs <br />530115 Misc. Contract Services <br />(Friends of the Palace Theater — 6th Annual "Tis the <br />Season — A Walk Through Christmas Town") <br />
