Dear Hawaii County Council,T
Please support Comm 447 and humane cat management.
People's pets are dumped by people who leave the island or are too poor to pay for their own food,
let alone that of a pet's or are informed or have to go to the hospital for too long and are evicted out of
their homes. They're not feral animals. They are abandoned animals. And there are proven cat
management techniques available that do work.
Please find some middle ground and at least support this comm to help humanely manage this
problem. The way it looks now, it sure looks like somebody's gunning for a cat it
eradication contract. This is a mini version of ICE, but instead of it being poor brown people, our
island is choosing to focus on making cats the enemy. Will the cat eradication contract include a
signing bonus like ICE gives?
If the above scenario turns out to be true, then Jordan Lerma who's made it his one man effort to vilify
poor dumped innocent house cats, should have no involvement nor his suggestion to use food hold
which is so sickening and retro 70's dark.
Please consider that we your constituents who are making this request for humane support are not
the minority on this island. We're just not as financially lucrative to those with an agenda to kill cats.
Please stop steam rolling any effort to make this management problem a compassionate process and
support comm 147.
