Medina, Director of Research and Development <br />T <br />tU <br />iU <br />:�E <br />RE: <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.25-45, AS AMENDED, TI <br />.V <br />OPERATING BUDGET OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2026. <br />Transmitted herewith is the above -entitled measure for the Council's review and consideration. <br />This appropriation of $1,600,000.00 reflects the anticipated funding allocation from the State Department <br />of Labor and Industrial Relations for Program Year (PY) 2025 under the Workforce Innovation and <br />Opportunity Act (WIOA). These funds will support adults, dislocated workers, and youth by providing <br />services that enhance employment opportunities, job retention, earnings, skill development, and literacy. <br />The goal is to strengthen the quality of the workforce, reduce reliance on public assistance, and improve <br />the productivity and competitiveness of our local economy. <br />Additionally, the Department of Research & Development (R&D) confirms that no County General <br />Funds are involved.
