RESOLUTION FOR FAIR AND EQUITABLE ELECTIONS
Dear Chairman James Arakaki and Councilmembers:
May we please urge you to pass this critical resolution which till be introduced
by Councilmember Julie Jacobson on the agenda for the Finance Commiltee on
Tuesday, June 20th (10:30AM).
Fair and equitable elections are the hallmark of a democratic socieh and are
essential to citizens' faith in our Government. Moreover it encourages a fill]
participation in the election process. The measures called for in Resolution z 267
are simple yet effective and involve keeping eadn'of the Big Island's absentee
walk-in polling stations open with equal hours/dayE; and utilizing poll watchers
at all absentee walk-in polling stations.
I urge you to support RESOLUTION # 267 Please help ensure the fairness and
integrity of the election process in Hawaii.
