Please cause County of Hawaii to hold this property for the public, and prevent commercialization. It
is an ancient Hawaiian Village site, and deserves respect as such. It is also an important ocean
access site for so many people. My wife and I unwind there almost every evening for an hour or two,
and see so many others doing the same. Tourists often stop for a short time to enjoy the view, locals
collect opihi and spend an afternoon fishing there, and it is all peaceful and friendly. There are a few
groups who pick up litter and police the entire area on a regular basis. Please do not allow this public
use area to be lost to private parties.
