Greetings,
My name is Kauila Benz -Marrs, a student at Ka `Umeke Ka`eo in the 11th grade. I`m the student body
president of our school, and a Ke Ea Hawaii representative, but my testimony is independent and not under
either of these groups. I`m here choosing to share my thoughts on the Pohakuloa Resolution 234-25. With that
in mind, I`d like to start off by saying that I strongly support this Resolutions, and its contents. Its very serious
that we go forth with this Resolution and completely end the desecration of our ancestors and `aumakuas land.
The military and government chooses money over our people, over our land, over my home. Pohakuloa is kapu,
it holds the bones of our knpuna and our ali`i that have fallen before us, its also right below Mauna Kea, which
is extremely kapu to the people of Hawaii. I have no supportive thoughts relating to the bombing at Pohakuloa.
I have no intention on continuing to testify and kn`e for Pohakuloa because there shouldnt be a reason to after
Comm. .

this Resoluton is passed. What they choose to do is so wrong, and its brushed off of the shoulders of the people
in power as "nothing". I appreciate this Resolution, and look forward to it passing completely. In conclusion, I
stand strong and proud with Mauna Kea and Pohakuloa. Kn Kia`i Mauna. Pass the Pohakuloa Resolution 234-
25
