Support Resolution 234 25
I am a resident of Hawaii Island writing to my County Council and elected council member, Heather
Kimball to express my strong support for Resolution No. 234 25 which urges the State of Hawaii to
request that the military cease all bombing and desecration activities at the Pohakuloa Training Area by
rejecting land swaps and lease renewals unless certain stipulations are established.
It is also my understanding that the military has threatened to take the Pohakuloa Training Area by
eminent domain if the State does not accept continued bombing there. This intimidation cannot be
tolerated. The Trump Administration has consistently used such bullying tactics to force their will on
states, organizations and businesses. The experience of institutions that have given into such threats
from our own government have been fruitless. Caving only results in more unreasonable demands.
Please vote in favor of Resolution 234 25.
