Aloha Committee Members,
I submitted written testimony previously but it was not up to standard so I hope
I'm not breay g any
rules by resubmitting my testimony.

I cannot tell you, the Hawai'i County Council, any new information you haven't already heard time and
time again from this years long conflict. But this is how it looks to me. The US Military knows Pohakuloa is
a wahi pana and is sacred to us Hawaiians, yet they do not care. They know of the harm caused by their
repeated bombing and use of depleted uranium not only to the environment, not only to the residents
who live nearby, but also their own soldiers, yet they do not care. So much public outcry, outrage, and
protest yet they claim what they are doing does not cause any "immediate harm" and continue to push
for their lease renewal.
No "immediate harm" is not equivalent to no harm. There would be no harm if not for their pollutants,
their bombs, their destruction and defilement of Pohakuloa in the name of profit. There would be no
depleted uranium and other dangerous chemicals to defile our'aina, our wai, and our bodies. Despite
what the army says the repeated bombing, pollution, and desecration being done to Pohakuloa does
indeed cause immediate harm to our'aina, to our native species, and to starving Palestinian children in
Gaza for whom this weapon testing is meant for.
For $1 per year the US Military gets to train their troops who will inevitably be discarded like trash once
their contracts are up. For $1 per year they get to disrespect and endanger the people of Hawai'i with
their false claims and blatant negligence. For $1 per year the US Military gets to use Pohakuloa, our wahi
pana, our sacred land as a playground for their weapons testing which they turn into billions while the
people of Hawai'i and the -people of Gaza struggle to survive..
The US Military does not care but I care, the people who submitted testimony care, and I urge you the
Hawai'i County Council to care too. Please support this resolution.
