Aloha Mai Kakou,CD
My name is Kamala Galletes, I was born & raised on HawP'i
Island and care deeply for this place. I'm a mother, grandmother,
and wife.
I am submitting testimony in strong support of Resolution 234-25
and ask for your help in protecting Hawaii island and its residents
from the destruction & desecration going on at Pohakuloa
Training Area. Please acknowledge that a full archaeological
inventory survey and Ka Pa'akai analysis need completed, and
please reject any land swaps or lease renewals with the military.
Ua Mau ke Ea o ka `Aina i ka Pono. The life of the land will be
perpetuated with righteousness.
Nothing is righteous about bombs being dropped on sacred
cultural sites, endangered species, and the iwi kupuna. Nothing
is righteous about the desecration of the cultural and natural
resources for generations to come. Please, you have a
constitutional responsibility to protect the Hawaiians, Hawaii
island residents, these lands, and the wai & kai, from harm of
ANY kind.
I have seen, heard, and felt the bombs drop and you will never be
able to convince me that the people & environment is not being

impacted. Please do everything in your power to protect this land;
to protect us. This land is being hurt, and the effects will be
detrimental for eternity.
Therefore, I ask you to approve this resolution. Be strong, be
brave, and be the ultimate voice for the land, the people, the
Hawaiians; let the healing begin.
