I reside at Pi'ihonua, Hilo, Hawaii and I am writing to you again to request your support of Resolution 234-25 to protect the health, safety, and cultural integrity of Hawai'i Island. On September 2, 2025, on the anniversary of the birth of Queen Lili'uokalani, a group of Hawaiian organizations will hold a press conference on the steps of'lolani Palace in Honolulu, Oahu, to issue a letter calling upon Governor Josh Green, the BLNR and DLNR to comply with State Law HRS343 and Article XI of the State Constitution. We are calling upon the governor and those government agencies to follow the laws that protect the Public Trust and uphold�their legal and moral responsibilities to the people of Hawai'i.. I ask you, Council Members, to unanimously vote in SUPPORT of Resolution 234-25 to end Pohakuloa live fire and bombing practice and the further contamination and destruction of our land, soil, water and air in the Pohakuloa Training Area. Reject land swaps and lease renewals with the U.S. Military unless they adhere to our Hawai'i State Constitution and our State Motto through the Ka Pa'akai Analysis of the area.
