Council Testimony
Aloha,
I am Gabrielle Kamalienalukai Kauai, I'm 15 years old and a 9th grader of Ka `Umeke Kaeo, I am the secretary
for my schools student committee and I am in STRONG SUPPORT of this resolution 234-25 because we've seen the
aftermath of horrifically bombing `aina, in Kaho`olawe. It does not end well for the `aina and as kanaka we HAVE TO
MALAMA `AINA. The 'aina of Pohakuloa needs aloha too. Hawaii is the largest mokupuni (island) of our archipelago
and Pohakuloa sits between Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea, Our Natural Water Source. Pohakuloa is practically in the center
of Hawaii mokupuni which makes Pohakuloa the piko of our mokupuni, destruction to the center of our mokupuni could
lead to catastrophical damage. Pohakuloa has a cultural, religious/sacred significance but the area of impact has been
sadly turned into a wasteland by Military BOMBING.
