Council Testimony
Support Res. 234-25
I strongly support this resolution to protect Pohakuloa from the US military's bombing and other acts
of desecration. The US military occupation of Pohakuloa has already caused serious environmental
harm through contamination, depleted uranium, the threatening of endemic wildlife, and even the
possible poisoning of the related aquifer if this is allowed to continue. Pohakuloa is culturally
significant and allowing US military presence is environmentally and ethically dangerous. Thank you
for allowing this testimony, and please support this resolution to protect all of Hawaii.
