TESTIMONY IN SUPPORT OF BILL 83
Aloha Chair and the members of the Policy Committee on Environmental and
Natural Resource Management,
My name is ROB CULBERTSON. I strongly support Bill 83. And I would also
like you to amend it to include a ban on single Use plastic water
bottles.
Plastic pollution is an urgent threat to our health, our oceans, and our future.
Microplastics are now found in our blood and organs, sadly, in every part of
our bodies, INCLUDING OUR (YOUR) BRAINS!
Banning single -use plastics will reduce waste, extend the life of our landfill,
support local composting, and drive innovation toward sustainable,
regenerative products - CLOSING THE LOOP!
Hawaii has an opportunity to lead by protecting people and 'aina over plastic
(AKA 'FOSSIL FUEL') profits.
