Subject: Stand up for Hawaii's Ecosystems --vote to eliminate single -use plastics... support the
amendment to ch. 20
My name is Dr. Nancy Jadallah and 1 am a resident of Kailua Kona, Hawaii. I am writing to strongly urge
you to support the amendment to Chapter 20 that strengthens the prohibition of single -use plastics and
polystyrene foam in Hawaii.
The environmental damage caused by disposable plastics is undeniable --our beaches, reefs, and marine
wildlife are drowning in pollution. These plastics never fully disappear; they break into microplastics that
enter our food chains and drinking water. We are poisoning our people and the ecosystems we area part
of on every level in the name of convenience.
This is notjust an environmental issue --it is a moral one! Our keiki and future generations deserve to
inherit'aina that is healthy, vibrant and one that sustains life.
Please do the RIGHT thing. VOTE YES to phase out single -use plastics and protect this incredibly sacred
place.
