Aloha,
My name is Naiyana Scott and I am a resident of Pahoa, Hawaii. I am writing to strongly urge you to support
the amendment to Chapter 20 that strengthens the prohibition of single -use plastics and polystyrene
foam in Hawaii. '
The environmental damage caused by disposable plastics is undeniable —our beaches, reefs, and marine
wildlife are drowning in pollution. These plastics never fully disappear; they break into microplastics that
enter our food chains and drinking water. We are poisoning our people and the ecosystems we are a part of on
every level in the name of convenience.
This is not just an environmental issue —it is a moral one. Our keiki and future generations deserve to inherit
`aina that is healthy, vibrant and one that sustains life.
Please do the right thing. Vote YES to phase out single -use plastics and protect this incredibly sacred
place. o c�
