A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO THE HAWAIʻI POLICE DEPARTMENT TO ASSIST
WITH EXPENSES FOR THE HAWAIʻI ISLE POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE 3 ON 3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT.
WHEREAS, the Hawaiʻi Isle Police Activities League (HI-PAL) is a community youth program under the Hawaiʻi Police Department that provides positive activities for keiki that teach moral
and social values, such as sportsmanship, fair play, respect for authority, self-discipline, and the benefits of hard work, all while having fun; and
WHEREAS, the HI-PAL program is requesting funds for referees, timers, and scorekeepers for its 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament to be held at the Old Kona Airport State Recreation Area
on January 24-25, 2026, which will serve a public purpose by facilitating sportsmanship, benevolence, friendship, sociability, goodwill, and tolerance; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Hawaiʻi Police Department to assist with expenses
for the Hawaiʻi Isle Police Activities League 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament.
