Chairman James Arakaki
Hawaii County Council
25 Aupuni Street
Hilo, HI 96720
Dear Chairman Arakaki: v
The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is in support of the Hawaii County Police
Department's efforts to upgrade the current microwave system.
It is my understanding that the current system is in poor shape and needs to be
upgraded. Our investigators rely on the police radio system for our emergency
communications. Our county vehicles are also equipped with used police radios for staff
use.
The police radio system serves as a backbone for regular and emergency
communications by the Hawaii County Police Department and many other county and
state agencies, and should be upgraded.
Sincerely yours,
l
