SUBJECT: MICROWAVE RELOCATION AND SYSTEM RENOVATION
RE: ORDINANCE NO. 00-50
As requested, please find the time phases and cost breakdown to renovate, relocate, and upgrade
the existing County Microwave Radio System.
First Phase
Engineering and Design. Obtain a system engineering firm to: (1) finalize the
facilities upgrading and new construction and coordinate with the architect,
and (2) finalize the microwave system engineering and specifications.
COST: $282,000
Second Phase
Facilities Upgrading. The facilities phase involves the architectural support,
environmental approvals (for new facilities), and the construction phase
necessary to prepare the facilities to support the upgraded radio system.
COST: $1,700,650
Third Phase

Implementation of the new microwave radio system. FSIe No.
COST: $6,258,210 Ref. To:
Project Schedule & Cost Ref. Date
Phase I & II done concurrently will take approximately one and one-half years
from start to finish.

Phase III will take approximately one and one-half years from beginning to end.
Total project time - 3 years.
Total project cost - $7,987,060
Be advised that the herein listed information contains an optimistic schedule and conservative
cost estimate. The deadline for our mandatory conversion is May 2005.
