I support Resolution 320-25 that is being considered by this Committee at its October 7, 2025 meeting. I
wholeheartedly agree with the intention and approach of this Resolution.
If it is recommended at the Committee level for approval to the full Council, I'd ask that you consider
amending the language in the first paragraph of page two of this Resolution. The full language is:
"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Council requests that the Mayor review all current and future
agreements and memoranda with all public and private partners to ensure that the constitutional rights
of all residents and our values as a multicultural society are protected"
The considerations are to:
1) provide a timeframe for the review (i.e., to be completed by...). If more time is needed to complete the
review, perhaps a schedule should be created which establishes what years will be reviewed, and this
will be brought before the full Council for review and approval.
2) schedule the outcome of this review of public and private agreements before the full Council, and
Agendize this review so the public understands and is aware of the scope of the review.
3) include this review (of future public and private agreements) in future staff reports or other documents
(Bills, Resolutions, and Memoranda, and other similar) that are reviewed and/or approved by County
Council.
A reviewwithout knowingthe result doesn't feel transparent. I don't believe that is the intention of this
Resolution. These procedural modifications are not onerous and are intended to strengthen the intent of
Resolution 320-25.
