Res. 320-25: EXPRESSES SUPPORT FOR DUE PROCESS AND THE PROTECTION OF CONSTITUTIONAL
RIGHTS FORALL RESIDENTS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I AND AFFIRMS THE COUNTY' S
COMMITMENT TO MULTICULTURALISM AND ITS IMMIGRANT HERITAGE
Aloha Committee members,
Mahalo to council rep galimba for introducing resolution 320-25.
I'm sorry I can't testify by zoom or in person, but please know that I strongly support the need for our
county to stand strong against the federal government's destruction and desecration of our constitution
and constitutional rights. We were somewhat hoodwinked by a resolution that allowed and possibly even
required our police force to act against the constitution. This reso would help right that wrong by limiting
the over -use and abuse of our county's police force.
Please vote in support of this resolution that requests that Mayor Alamada to review existing and
potential agreements with public and private partners to ensure constitutional rights of residents are
protected and requests the Hawai i Police Department to limit its involvement with the United States
Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement to cases involving criminal
activity.
Mahalo for supporting this resolution and the democratic rights of our county's residents.
