Dear Chair Inaba, Vice Chair Onishi, and Councilmembers:
I write this letter in strong support of Resolution 320-25.
The resolution affirms constitutional rights for all people regardless of race, ethnicity,
immigration status, religion, political belief, gender, sexual orientation or socioeconomic
status; emphasizes the importance of equal protection and due process for all residents;
limits local cooperation with ICE and calls for review of County agreements to ensure
alignment with constitutional protections and community values of diversity.
As a governing body, this resolution shows a tremendous amount of leadership for this
community. Your steadfast position when it comes to protecting the community is
imperative at this time. We see so much division and infighting, it's about time a group of
leaders make a strong unified statement to treat all members of our community fairly.
Your work can have a meaningful impact on the safety.of all of us. Thank you for your
commitment to the people and to this place.
I appreciate the opportunity to submit testimony in strong support.
