Aloha Councilmembers,

Please continue to support this resolution. I hope you will follow up with more targeted action, and with bills, not just
resolutions. The bills should include the following:
Require ICE agents to clearly identify themselves by telling people their name and saying they are from ICE, clearly
displaying a badge or the name "ICE" on their outer clothing, and when asked providing an identification card with their
name, badge number, and agency contact information.
Prohibit ICE agents from covering their faces.
Prohibit ICE use of unmarked vehicles for official actions.
Prohibit ICE use of County property for staging, processing, or operations, unless they have permission. This would include
County streets, parking lots, and parks.
Require County employees to immediately ,report any attempted illegal use of County property by ICE.
Require the County to "design and distribute official signage, free of charge, that private landowners and leaseholders can
post on their property. The signage clearly states that no federal immigration agents may enter for the purpose of civil
immigration enforcement and that the property may not be used as a staging area, processing location, or operations
base." *
Require the County "to distribute "Know Your Rights" materials to the public that explain the rights of employees,
tenants, and security staff when approached by federal agents seeking access to a property." *
