I understand that some people don't like having chickens for neighbors, but they are all over the island, in cages or not. Even if you cage your hens a rogue rooster my come in your yard and start crowing, because he wants to be near your hens. How dare you try to limit the number of hens one can have. Some of us live in the country and if it doesn't bother our neighbors, I don't see why it's a problem. Government is always sticking their noses, where it doesn't belong. Living on an island, we should not be hindered by the government on growing food or selling eggs and birds. With everything being imported this should be the least of your worries. It's ridiculous, when outsiders come to Hawai'i and try to tell us what is best for us, when they have no clue. No, to Bill 521 Yes, to allowing people on the island, to grow their own food!
