PLEASE Pass Bill 83
Aloha Council Members,
I am writing again from Kona in strong support of Bill 83. Our county landfill is rapidly approaching
capacity and we cannot afford to keep burying single -use plastics that will sit there for generations,
not to mention all of the plastic that makes its way into our oceans, affecting wildlife and our food
supply. Bill 83 moves us toward a more sustainable system by encouraging the use of compostable
products that break down responsibly and support future composting infrastructure.
This is a practical, necessary step to reduce waste, extend the life of our landfill, and protect our island
for future generations. Please do the responsible thing and pass Bill 83.
