Aloha Council Members,
I am writing in strongsupport of Bill 83. Our County landfill is rapidly approaching capacity, and we
cannot afford to keep buryingsingle-use plastics that will sit there forgenerations. Bill 83 moves us
toward a more sustainable system by encouraging the use of compostable products that break
down responsibly and support future composting infrastructure.
This is a practical, necessary step to reduce waste, extend the life of our landfill, and protect our
island for future generations. Please pass Bill 83.
Please pass this, Big Island is an amazing place and also home to so many that want to take care of
it and all that life here.
