COUNTY OF HAWAVI STATE OF HAWAVI 60;F A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO NEGOTIATE THE DISPOSITION OF REAL PROPERTY IDENTIFIED AS TAX MAP KEY NO. 7-4-010:044 BY LEASE TO HOPE SERVICES HAWAPI, INC., FOR HOMELESS ASSISTANCE PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Section 2-120(a)(3) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) (hereinafter, the "Code") provides that the Council may, by resolution, direct the Director of Finance to negotiate the disposition of real property by leasing it to governments, governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, or affordable housing developers at such rentals and on such terms and conditions as deemed proper; and WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development (hereinafter, "OHCD") owns the property located at 74-5593 Pawai Place, Kailua-Kona, identified as Tax Map Key No. 7-4-010:044 (hereinafter, "the Property"); and WHEREAS, OHCD wishes to enter into a lease agreement for the Property with HOPE Services Hawaii, Inc., a nonprofit organization; and WHEREAS, the Property was previously leased under Resolution No. 445-22, Draft 2, for the purpose of providing services to homeless individuals; and WHEREAS, the Property will continue to serve as an emergency homeless shelter and one -stop resource center for the homeless population; and WHEREAS, the annual rent for this lease will be $ 10; and WHEREAS, the proposed initial lease term is from February 1, 2026, or the soonest thereafter, through January 31, 2027, with one one-year option to renew; and WHEREAS, the lease of the Property is required to provide crucial homeless services and emergency shelter to the West Hawaii community; now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that, in accordance with Section 2-120 of the Code, the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and
