WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation's 2026 Summer Fun Program at the Pahala Community Center provides arts -and -crafts activities and recreation for elementary school students during the summer break; and WHEREAS, funds are needed to assist low-income families in the Kati district to ensure an affordable opportunity for children to participate in the 2026 Summer Fun Program; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to offset the out-of-pocket costs per child for registration fees, transportation, and other activities for its 2026 Summer Fun Program; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation for its 2026 Summer Fun Program at the Pahala Community Center. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $4,250 OUT AND FROM: 1010-11-10191 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $4,250 CREDITED TO: 1010-51-50925 Department of Parks and Recreation $4,250 Summer/Intersession Class/Activities 550341 Misc. Charges (Pahala Community Center — 2026 Summer Fun Program) • • BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
