Subject: Support Bill 83, Draft 2
Aloha Chair and members of our County Council,
I am writing to strongly urge you to support Bill 83, Draft 2, and its amendments.
"Think globally and act locally" is more than just a bumper sticker slogan. We on Hawai'i Island would
be taking a big step for the health of our planet by approving Bill 831
I and my husband are regular consumers of take-out food. We are willing to pay more for the
convenience of a delicious, prepared meal that doesn't add to the non-biogradable trash that is
polluting our islands, the ocean, and the world.
We know how massive a problem plastic pollution is. Bill 83 gives us a chance to ACT, rather than just
feeling overwhelmed.
Supporting Bill 83 means supporting the health of our reefs, our communities, and future generations.
