RESOLUTION NO. 490 26
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE 2026 EASTER FUN DAY IN THE KA`U
DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division, provides a
diversified recreation program that addresses the needs and interests of the respective
communities in a safe environment at County recreation facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Division plans, conducts, arranges, or promotes organized
recreation, athletics, crafts, and other leisure -time activities for all age groups at recreation
centers and facilities throughout the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Division is planning to host an Easter Fun Day event on
April 3, 2026, at three locations in the Ka`u district: Kahuku Park in Ocean View, Na`alehu
Community Center, and Pahala Community Center, which will include a variety of activities and
refreshments for all participating keiki in the community; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to purchase
Easter eggs and candy, arts and crafts supplies for keiki activities, and refreshments for the 2026
Easter Fun Day; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for its 2026 Easter Fun Day in the Ka`u district.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transinit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
