Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Communication No. 751, reports as follows:
Communication No. 751, transmitted by Mayor C. Kimo Alameda, dated February 12, 2026,
requests the Council's review and confirmation of the nomination of Reginald G. Alexander to the
Veterans Advisory Committee.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor, Micah Alameda, was present in the Hilo Chambers to introduce
Mr. Alexander, who was present via remote technology.
Committee Members James E. Hustace and Dennis "Fresh" Onishi spoke in favor of the appointment.
Committee Chair Jenn Kagiwada asked Mr. Alexander if he was aware of the meeting schedule and
can attend upcoming meetings. Mr. Alexander said yes.
Pursuant to Chapter 15, Article 7, Section 15-61 of the Hawaii County Code, members of the
Veterans Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication No. 751, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of
Reginald G. Alexander to the Veterans Advisory Committee.
