COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 745/Bill No. 133
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 133, reports as follows:
Bill No. 133, transmitted by Interim Fire Chief Daniel J. Volpe via Communication No. 745,
dated February 12, 2026, amends Ordinance No. 25-45, as amended, the Operating Budget of the
County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
This bill increases revenues in the Federal Grants — Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency
Response account ($271,447); and appropriates the same to the Staffing for Adequate Fire and
Emergency Response account. Funds would be used for twelve temporary slit -funded Fire Fighter
positions.
Committee Member Ashley L. Kierkiewicz stated that this is the companion measure to
Resolution No. 478-26.
There was no further discussion.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 133, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
