Acquisition of Property Under The $1 Home Sales to Local Governments
Program
This is to transmit Resolution No. 272-00, Draft 2, relating to the acquisition of property under
the $1 Home Sales to Local Governments Program.
Draft 2 is the result of amendments made at the Council's meeting of July 7, 2000. The Council
amended the resolution to make the authorization of acquiring property to only one property
located in Waimea, South Kohala (TMK: 6-4-19:54). The Council also added a requirement
that the OHCD must (1) evaluate the home offered to the County for any hazardous materials,
(2) evaluate the appropriateness and costs of renovations to the unit, (3) make a recommendation
to the mayor, and (4) inform the Housing Agency of its recommendation.
