Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 139, reports as follows:
Bill No. 139, transmitted by Executive on Aging Kauionalani Fukuda via Communication No. 769,
dated February 24, 2026, amends Ordinance No. 25-45, as amended, the Operating Budget of the
County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
This bill appropriates revenues in the Federal Grants — Benefits Enrollment Center — National
Council on Aging account ($150,000); and appropriates the same to the Benefits Enrollment
Center — National Council on Aging account. Funds would be used to help enroll Medicare
beneficiaries who have limited income and resources to access available benefits.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 139, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
