Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Roy T. Hinokawa of Hilo (Council District 2) to the
Hawaii County Veterans Advisory Commission to replace Derrick S. Ah Sing of
Puna (Council District 5), who resigned on May 22, 2000.
Mr. Hinokawa has been retired since 1988. Prior to that, he was employed by
the Hawaii National Guard (1955-1988). He is a member of the Disabled
American Veterans and the American Legion.
If approved, he will serve the balance of the unexpired term, which will end on
December 31, 2002, and he will be representing the Disabled American
Veterans.
