This memorandum is in response to the request by Councilmember Matthew
Kanealii-Kleinfelder for monthly runaway updates. The updates requested the
following information: the names of current runaways, the total number to date for
this year (2026), the total number to date for last year (2025), and a cross-reference
of repeat runaways. The requested data is below.
The total number of current runaways: 5
The names of runaways with signed current media waivers:
Area I (Hilo, Hamakua and Puna)
