,Mty Os y� COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAI`I RESOLUTION NO. 529 26 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO D.A.R.E. HAWAI°I TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR THE 2026 D.A.R.E. DAY CELEBRATION IN WEST HAWAI L WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to supporting law enforcement officers with materials and incentives for conducting classes annually to elementary, middle, and high school students, with the purpose of teaching our keiki to make safe and responsible decisions to resist alcohol, drugs, tobacco, violence and risky situations to lead a safe and healthy life; and WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is requesting funds to assist with expenses for carnival game supplies to provide engaging activities that reinforce positive behavior and development, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests of culture and the arts, educational concerns, the needs of the poor, youth, the aged, those with physical or emotional disabilities, and the public health and welfare of the people and the environment, and victims of health or social crises; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 are hereby transferred to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to D.A.R.E. Hawaii for the expenses and purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $2,000 OUT AND FROM: 1010-11-10191 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $2,000 CREDITED TO: 1010-21-25139 Department of Liquor Control $2,000 Public Programs 530115 Misc. Contract Services (D.A.R.E. Hawaii — 2026 D.A.R.E. Day Celebration in West Hawaii)
