COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 532 26 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO D.A.R.E. HAWAI`I TO <br />ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS 2026 D.A.R.E. DAY CELEBRATION IN <br />EAST HAWAI`I. <br />WHEREAS, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) <br />nonprofit organization that teaches our youth to make safe and responsible decisions, to resist <br />alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and violence, to avoid risky situations, and to lead a safe and healthy <br />life; and <br />WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is requesting funds for expenses related to the 2026 East <br />Hawaii D.A.R.E. Day, including pizzas for students who completed the 10-week D.A.R.E. <br />curriculum, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting culture <br />and the arts, educational concerns, public health and welfare of the people and the environment, <br />victims of health or social crises, and the needs of the poor, youth, the aged, and those with <br />physical or emotional disabilities; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 are hereby transferred to the <br />Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to D.A.R.E. Hawaii for the expenses and <br />purposes identified -in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br />reference, in the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $2,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />1010-11-10191 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $2,000 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />1010-21-25139 Department of Liquor Control $2,000 <br />Public Programs <br />530115 Misc. Contract Services <br />(D.A.R.E. Hawaii — 2026 D.A.R.E. Day <br />Celebration) <br />
