HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 568 Draft 01 2024-2026A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE FOURTH AND FINAL GRADUATING CLASS OF THE HAWAI‘I NATIONAL GUARD JOB CHALLENGE ACADEMY LOCATED AT THE KEAUKAHA MILITARY RESERVATION IN HILO.
WHEREAS, the committed Associates of the Hawai‘i National Guard Job Challenge Academy have much to be proud as they are the fourth and final graduating class of the career-based program
at Keaukaha Military Reservation; and
WHEREAS, these Job Challenge Academy (hereinafter “JCA”) Associates are former Youth Challenge Academy (hereinafter “YCA”) graduates, who have not only completed the Basic Challenge
Program in the youth program, but now chose to further enhance their future through JCA; and
WHEREAS, JCA is an optional, five-month residential program for young adults, aged seventeen through twenty years old, YCA graduates, who desire to further their opportunities for success
through post-secondary education credentials, such as certificates of course completion or industry-based certificates, facilitating their transition into the workforce as employable
individuals; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that this body hereby recognizes the fourth and final graduating class of the Hawai‘i National Guard Job Challenge Academy and
their achievements in successfully completing the JCA program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council joins the Associates in celebrating their graduation on May 22, 2026.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Joshua B. Green, M.D., Governor of the State of Hawai‘i; the
Honorable Ronald D. Kouchi, President of the Hawai‘i Senate; the Honorable Nadine K. Nakamura, Speaker of the Hawai‘i House of Representatives; Major General Stephen F. Logan, Adjutant
General of the State of Hawai‘i; and the Honorable C. Kimo Alameda, Mayor of the County of Hawai‘i.
