Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance appropriating an additional $5,890 that the
Hawai'i County Police Department received for the Community Policing grant.
This program is to improve and increase police-community partnerships in
crime prevention programs and problem solving.

improve and increase police-community partnerships in crime
prevention programs and problem solving.

RE: Community Policing 97-DB-25
Grant Extension and Supplemental Funds
Enclosed for your files is the Project Grant Modification Notice for the Community
Policing, 97-1313-25, extending the project end date from June 31, 2000 to September 30, 2000.
Please file this Notice with the Contract.
We have additional FY 97 grant funds available for your project to help cover the cost of
equipment/supplies which ended up costing more than anticipated. The supplemental funds are
in the amount of $5,890 of which a county match of $1,964 is required. In order for the project
to receive the additional grant funds, please submit a revised (supplemental) budget by June 23,
2000. The revised budget will be used for the supplemental contract between the Department of
the Attorney General and the Hawaii County Police Department. The supplemental contract is
required before the funds can be requested. The additional funds must be obligated by September
30, 2000 and no extension to the project end date will be allowed.
The revised (supplemental) budget should reflect the following increases:

Federal $43,000.00 $48,890.00
Agency Match $14333.00 $16.297.00
Total $57,333.00 565,187.00
